Posted by Andres Torres about Melody's Convenient Bike Planter (CBP)

The C.B.P comes to life in a fresh 3d model.

The  GREAT ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION to fight against global warming and also the best way to do it, doing exercise while planting trees ! isnt it great?

The finished hat!
Posted by Ellie Birkhead about Benjamin's Super Hat 2021

Ta da! I hope Benjamin like's the made real Super Hat 2021! I definitely like wearing it :)

The Meeting has arrived!
Posted by Andres Torres about Melody's Convenient Bike Planter (CBP)

It was so amazing to know the great inventor Melody, we talked about how she gets to invent the C.B.P  and also how was her process of thinking to come up with such an interesting idea and incredibly useful to exercise ourselves and at the same time add lungs to the planet which urgently need that us, we as human beings, we must take care of our planet and do something about the global warming problem like planting trees with the distinguish C.B.P

One of the good things about the meeting was getting to adjust the last details where actually we decide and agree to make some modifications in some elements of the C.B.P to make it more effective and powerfull.

She gave me some great direction on some extra little finishing touches and I propposed some little details tha finally we will see in the final 3d model of the great Convenient Bike Planter (CBP)

Sounds and music are on!
There are tiny details still to be addressed but it is almost done!

Compost Disposal 2
Posted by Lottie Smith about Harrison's The Compost-Bee

Showing how the backup turbine is automatically activated to aid the opening of the end of the bee when ramp is raised.

Compost disposal
Posted by Lottie Smith about Harrison's The Compost-Bee

Small animation showing how the compost is deposited from the Bee at the composting farm facility. Harrison described how the floor of the compost compartment would be raised into a ramp in order that the compost slides out through the open back end of the Bee. Such a clever yet simple idea!

Under the floor of the compost storage area you can see 3 circles which are the pipes which release flower seeds in suitable areas on the Bee's travels.

This additional feature to help grow flowers for real bees is one of my favourites details that came out of my conversation with Harrison! The second image shows the seed release holes externally on the base of the Compost-Bee.

Compost collection
Posted by Lottie Smith about Harrison's The Compost-Bee

Short animation to show how the compost is put into the Bees mouth at home. Mechanism activated by the eye of the bee in which there is a button.

Antennae
Posted by Lottie Smith about Harrison's The Compost-Bee

Antennae used for GPS navigation and the location of suitable ground for seed release system activation.

Backup Wind Turbine
Posted by Lottie Smith about Harrison's The Compost-Bee

Back up turbine for power when solar is running low.

Wings
Posted by Lottie Smith about Harrison's The Compost-Bee

Once I decided on the shape I made 2 wings. I used a honey comb material found in certain types of packaging to show the cells which will capture the solar energy to be used to power the Compost-Bee.

I also played with the angle they would be attached at. You can see in my extremely messy workspace how the wings could rotate around the body of the Bee from fully open to closed.

Starting the prototype
Posted by Lottie Smith about Harrison's The Compost-Bee

While I'm building I'll often make quick different shaped parts or try different colours to make sure I'm getting the proportions right. I'll take photos like these so I can have a think before I attach things together or spend a long time making an element of the design that ends up the wrong size. It helps to answer questions like How big is that wing? or How wide are those stripes? by actually doing not just thinking.

Two modes of the pipe_color update
Posted by Hung Lu Chan about Kiara's Toxic chemicals detector

Following Kiara's idea of a color plan which is using orange, blue, and yellow as the main color, I tried another version of pipe color.

Sound
Posted by Chloe Rodham about Zeya's Cow Butt Balloon

Adding sound onto the video is really fun as it brings the movement to life. I've added a variety of different sounds from the cow and also the sound of the invention working with a rumbly sound. I use a programme called Audition to put lots of different tracks together.

Editing
Posted by Chloe Rodham about Zeya's Cow Butt Balloon

I've been working on my laptop with all the photos I took when I shot the animation. I need to tweak the timing a little bit and I also need to make the invention around the bottom of the cow expand as if it is filled with gas! I used a program called After Effects to add more animation and do some post production on the shots like colour correction.

Shooting
Posted by Chloe Rodham about Zeya's Cow Butt Balloon

Now I've finished the model I'm ready to shoot the animation. I needed to make some extra pieces of floor so that the car could travel over it. I'm using stop motion animation so I need to move the model small amounts and take a picture each time I move it. I have the camera connected to my computer too so I can see the animation as I go. I've used some plastercine to make it look as if the cow is blinking, I've got 4 different sets of eyelids and I replace them to make the blink work. I loved the GO! sign on the invention, I've made it so that it can switch between STOP and GO so that you know when the car is refuelled.
